![]() ![]() ![]() It's pretty much the same with GTAV and GTAV Online. Are they two separate games? It's the same locations, same weapons, same controls all on the same disc the only difference is that one has other players and has a leveling system for unlocking rewards. For some people Call of Duty multiplayer is a game and for others Call of Duty single player is a game. Is it a different game? Depends on what you call a different game. GTAV online has all the open world stuff of a GTA game while GTA IV had none of it. You can jack a secured van for money or sell pick up a hooker and so on. In GTAV online you can go golfing or play tennis, etc. This category categorizes the multiplayer game modes in the GTA Series. You couldn't go bowling or play pool there were no randomly generated open world events. End Credits in GTA Online End Credits in GTA V End Credits in GTA Chinatown Wars End Credits in The Ballad of Gay Tony End Credits in The Lost and Damned. GTA IV online had nothing to do in free roam. ![]() You start out in a free roam full of people and there are open world things you can do, like delivering high priority cars, starting gang wars, robbing stores, etc but if you want to transition into a more structured mode like a mission or a deathmatch or a game of golf then it's a near seemless transition. People inexplicably keep buying new copies of it, so yes, it stands to reason people will buy more standalone copies for PS5 and Xbox Series X, even if there are really no standout improvements to the game to speak of. The game has sold 150 million copies, far and away the most successful AAA game of all time my a factor of three or four. It’s not rocket science to figure out why Rockstar is releasing GTA 5 on next-gen consoles, and not doing so as a free upgrade. Also slipped into the PS5 showcase was the fact that this release had been delayed into next year, when it was supposed to be out this November. Nothing of real value seems to be getting added here, and yet Rockstar is charging for new copies of the game. This is different than the PS4/Xbox One launch of the game which also came with first person mode, a significant addition. ![]()
